Race to Cure Sarcoma (click for flier on upcoming fundraiser)
Kamora  was diagnosed with Myxoid Liposarcoma on Jan 2015.  She had a 10.5x6.5x5.5 cm removed by an extra wide excision from her back right thigh. We are truly blessed and lucky that the surgeons were able to remove it all with clear margins!  Her tumor was a size of a guava. Ever since the surgery she has been struggling with nerve pain. At one point it was so bad she could barely walk.  She has been through many  treatments, medications and chronic Pain rehab. She has improved! however, She is still experiencing a 6-8 pain level. Most of her days the pain is tolerable. Unfortunately it’s has not been a pain free day since recovery. Regardless of her pain she is very active! She is in marching band, plays softball and basketball! I'm so amazed in her strength, positive attitude, and drive.  As a parent you never want to hear that your child has cancer! The day you hear the cancer is gone for now, which is the most wonderful news ever! You have to deal with the aftermath. I see my child struggle in pain everyday, and there's nothing  I can do about it. It saddens my heart, when I see her having a bad day.  She will sometimes say, "I can't take this”, “I wish I can cut my leg off" or "I wish I never had cancer"... She has every right to be mad and vent!  But she never dwells  on it. She picks herself up , vents and takes control!  That small moment of darkness and frustration there’s a dim light  shining and it just starts shining brighter and brighter! That drive and determination of not letting the pain control her life is the most amazing  thing I’ ever seen.  She is  Full of life, love, and determination. She just keeps going! So let's rock out Cleveland and Join or donate to TEAM KAMORA!  Let’s raise awareness and funds for sarcoma research.
