Ninth graders at Riverside High School will be taking the PSAT 8/9 assessment on Thursday, January 17, 2019.
The PSAT 8/9 measures reading, writing and language, and math skills. It will help identify which skills students need to work on for continued success through high school and college. In addition, the PSAT 8/9 will identify areas where students excel and may want to consider taking higher-level courses, as well as areas students should focus on to improve academically.
The PSAT 8/9 is aligned with the SAT and PSAT/MMSQT and will establish a baseline for college and career readiness throughout high school for students, while providing each student with personalized feedback about his/her academic strengths and weaknesses, helping each student to prepare for college and career success. PSAT 8/9 scores are not sent to colleges.
All students will also be given access to multiple online resources that provide FREE personalized SAT preparation, as well as college and career planning tools. These resources include:
* A PSAT 8/9 score report that includes detailed answer explanations.
* personalized study plan when the student links his/her PSAT 8/9 results to the Khan Academy site.
