Dear Students and Family,
Welcome back students and family members to another exciting school year at Hale Road Elementary! Your child will get the opportunity to experience many activities this year as they learn how the history of Ohio contributed to the development of the United States of America.
Fourth graders will focus on the history, geography, government, and the economy of America with a special emphasis on Ohio. The foundations of U.S. history will be explored as students learn about prehistoric Ohio cultures, early American life, and the U.S. Constitution. They will analyze the growth of Ohio and the development of the United States. Students will begin to understand how ideas and events from the past have shaped Ohio, the United States, and our world. We will strive to make these objectives meaningful and relevant to students’ lives.
Parents are encouraged to check your child’s student planner daily for homework assignments, project due dates, and for helpful information. A grade level newsletter will be sent home on a weekly basis. This newsletter will feature the curriculum being studied and will inform students and parents of upcoming tests, projects, and assignments which are due for the week. My teacher page from the school’s website will also specify the curriculum being studied and will inform students and parents of upcoming tests, projects, and major assignments.
