In a partnership with Painesville Township, Buckeye, Hadden, Hale and Madison Avenue elementary participated in National Walk to School Day during the week of October 3.
The purpose of Walk to School Day was to encourage students to be physically active and to choose a healthy lifestyle. Parents and family members were also invited to walk to school with their children on this day to spend time with their children and to socialize with other parents and neighbors. Teachers were also welcome to participate.
For students who lived too far away to walk to their schools, each school arranged a meeting point close to the school so students could then walk from the meeting points to the school.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Department, Painesville Township Fire Department and Painesville Township Trustees will assist with Walk to School Day.
