Dear Parents,
I continue to feel fortunate to be the principal of Leroy Elementary School, and I am looking forward to my third year as part of an outstanding academic team. As a resident of Leroy for the past 24 years I am well aware of the charm, warmth, and strong academic history of this school. Leroy Elementary services approximately 250 students from Kindergarten through Grade 5.
We have 21 certified staff members providing a first class education to our entire student body in the form of regular class room teachers, special education instructors, speech language therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and school psychologists. All of our teachers have been identified as "Highly Qualified" by the state of Ohio.
We also have an additional 12 staff members that act in the support roles of nurse(LPN), custodian, special needs assistant, recess and cafeteria monitor.
The school enjoys strong community support and the parent organization, the Leroy School Association, works closely with teachers to identify needs and raise money to meet the need. They also work hard to plan activities for social interaction to bring the community together.
Our students have performed well on Ohio's achievement test over the last several years, and as a result, Leroy Elementary has received a rating of excellent or excellent with distinction for nine consecutive years.
The teachers are committed to providing each child a world class education, and they work cooperatively with parents to ensure that each child is challenged with high expectations.
