Melridge Elementary School has an enrollment of approximatly 400 students in kindergarten through 5th Grade. We have approximately 40 full and part time staff members who share their enthusiasm, knowledge and love of children each day.
I am proud to say that our students have met all indicators on the Ohio Achievement Assessments, earning an Excellent rating from the state of Ohio. I am very proud of our students and teachers for this accomplishment and take pride in our building's rating.
Melridge Elementary School is known throughout our parent community as having a very warm, caring, friendly and nurturing environment!
At Melridge we believe every child has the right to grow into a contributing member of society. All students will be engaged in activities that are meaningful, relevant and directed toward life-long learning. With commitment and teamwork involving staff, parents, and community members all students will learn and grow.
The Melridge teachers and staff bring professional expertise in a myriad of different areas and provide diverse educational programs for students. Our enthusiastic and talented teachers provide specialized instruction and student support in the areas of Music, Art, Physical Education, Reading and Math Intervention, Library Skills, Technology Skills, Scientific Skills, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy.
We have a Special Education Program which supports the classroom instruction of students with special needs, including students with learning disabilities, cognitive disabilities, communication (speech) needs, and occupational and physical therapy needs.
Our parents and family members volunteer in a variety of ways within our school community, including serving in the Parent Teacher Organization, serving as Library Volunteers, coordinating the Melridge Magazine and Cookie Dough Sales, tutoring and mentoring students, assisting teachers with special projects, and helping with special school events such as Field Day.
Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) provides tremendous financial and volunteer support for our school. This organization has provided many things for our school, including books and instructional materials; teacher appreciation breakfasts and luncheons; Smart Boards, Turning Point interactive learning systems, field trip bus transportation costs; assembly costs; ceiling fans, amplification systems and LCD projectors for the individual classrooms; new playground equipment; and security cameras, a doorbell and T.V. monitors. Our parents also volunteer in many capacities within this organization, including serving as PTO officers and committee chairs, working as Homeroom Moms and Dads, and volunteering for PTO projects; such as, the Market Day Program, the Fall and Spring Fundraisers, the Fall Harvest Festival, monthly Skating Parties and the Fifth Grade Picnic!
Together we can make a difference in a child’s life!
We welcome you to visit our school and meet our staff!
