The Sparkles Cheer Squad is made up of 16 high school students, four of them with disabilities. The high school received a grant from the Sparkles Effect Organization for uniforms and another grant from Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities to purchase t-shirts.

The squad has been practicing on a weekly basis since the beginning of December and have been cheering at recent home basketball games, including last night's game.

The Sparkles Cheer Squad will cheer again at the Boys Junior Varsity Basketball game on February 10, the Girls Junior Varsity Basketball game on February 12 and Boys 9th grade basketball game on February 16.
