Below are the five students (descriptions provided by the AFS):

Pimchanok “Sunny” (Female from Thailand) Pimchanok (Sunny) is an artistic and fun-loving 15-year-old Thai student. Sunny loves to draw and write in her diary. She enjoys spending time with her parents and extended family members. They watch movies, travel and share meals together. She studies at an English Integrated School where she draws, paints and plays basketball. Sunny wants to improve her English while in the U.S. She is extremely proud of her country and wants to become a tour guide to show everyone the wonderful places in Thailand. She would love to be placed with a big close knit family. Sunny can't wait to meet you!

Jantemduang “Amy” (Female from Thailand) Jantemduang is a bright science and math student who just switched schools this past year to focus on English in preparation for her year in the United States. She enjoys playing the flute, exercising, visiting art museums, and spending time with her family. She, her parents, and older sister recently spent a day hiking the hills of Thailand, camping out and watching the sun rise. She describes herself as cheerful and humble and enjoys being around younger children. She is grateful her mom runs a tutoring business as she is able to take more English classes and help with the students.

Leon (Male from Germany) Leon is interested in experiencing another family and connecting to each family member. He would love to have a sporty host brother, but says sisters are nice too. He would love to try American sports like football or baseball. He also enjoys skiing (racing), tennis, golfing, swimming, cooking for his family, family activities and board games. His friends describe him as athletic, joyful, & fun to be around. His parents say he is kind and warmhearted. He is interested in becoming an architect in the future. He would love to express gratitude to his new family for willingness to host.

Cemre Selin (Female from Germany) Meet Cemre, a social and honest young lady who has roots in Germany and Turkey. She speaks fluent Turkish since her grandparents know little German. Because of her good communication skills, learning new languages seems to come easy to her. Cemre loves everything to do with music like singing, dancing, and playing the piano. Her family is close and they enjoy spending time together visiting places within the community and through their travels. Cemre is looking forward to her experience abroad and meeting her new host family!

Roberto (Male from Italy) Family, friends, and sports are important to Roberto, a 17 year-old student from Italy. He is close with his parents and often asks them for advice when making important life decisions. Their opinions matter to him. Roberto likes to talk with friends, he values their opinions, too. An amateur athlete, Roberto plays soccer and is also a fan of the regional professional soccer team and enjoys going to matches whenever he can. Roberto enjoys hiking in the Alps and loves nature. He finds the mountains relaxing. Roberto likes learning about the design and application of equipment.
