In order to be compliant with Ohio Department of Education guidelines, the district is required to have a District Wellness Committee. The purpose of the committee is to bring together representatives from the school and community who can help us address issues facing the health and well-being of our children and youth.

The committee is led by Michelle Walker, Principal at Hadden Elementary School, and Michelle Gifford, Director of Nutrition Services for the district. In addition to Ms. Walker and Ms. Gifford, there are teachers, parents, and students on the committee. Our goal is to examine and plan for updates and/or changes in the classroom, cafeteria, playing fields, after school activities, etc. We follow guidelines set forth by the Healthy Schools Program through the Alliance for a Healthier Generation whose goal is to reduce the prevalence of childhood obesity.
