Melridge General Information

Melridge General Information

Our instructional day this year is:  9:10a.m. - 3:40p.m.  Students will be permitted to enter the building at the first bell: 9:00a.m.  For students needing to be dropped off earlier, please sign up for our Latchkey program.  The forms are on the school website and in the Melridge lobby.

For parents who are driving their child to school, please use the center drop-off lane.  After the first 3 days of school, parents are asked not to walk their child to class. This will help to eliminate some of the confusion in the hallways and build independence and responsibility within your child.

Procedures for Everyday Parent Pick-up

  1. Let your child’s teacher know in writing if they will be a daily pick-up.

  2. Through the Google form emailed out on August 17 and/or with a parent note, your child will be issued two car signs.

  3. Place the car signs in your sun visor during pick-up.

  4. Please pull through the center pick-up lane and your child will be brought to the car by a staff member.

  5. DO NOT leave your vehicle if you are in this center lane.  The goal is to keep the pick-up process moving through this lane.

  6. If you need to come into the school, please park your vehicle in the second row of parking.

  7. Students may only cross using the crosswalk, but PLEASE remain extremely alert as you drive in the parking lot!

  8. Please do not drive or park in the bus lane.

Parents MUST call the school by 9:30 a.m. each day your child is absent.  The absence line number is 358-8851 and is available 24/7.

If your child’s end of day dismissal plans are going to be different, please send a note in with your child in the morning.  Please include the following in the note:  Your child’s full name, date, teacher’s name, and change in dismissal plans.  Without written permission, the child will be sent home on the bus or to latchkey.  For security purposes, we must receive the request in writing...phone calls will not be accepted.

Infinite Campus is the tool in which you will receive information from school in a variety of ways.

  1. This is where you will view your child’s report card.

  2. It is also the database in which the school pulls email addresses from when sending school and classroom communications.

  3. It is very important that you have an updated email address in infinite campus (one that you check) and have created your account.

  4. If you have never created an account, please call the Melridge school office (352-3854) and Mrs.  Rinderman can provide you with the information needed.

  5. If you have set up an account, but forgotten the username or password, please call the board office at 358-8205 and speak with Marlo Herrmann.

School newsletters and communications will be sent via email.  Please make sure the school has a current email address in Infinite Campus (one that you check).  If you have not received this newsletter and a few other communications this August from Melridge, this means you DO NOT have a current email in Infinite Campus.  Please contact the school office (352-3854) to update this information. If you DO NOT have access to email and would like a paper copy of the newsletter, please write a note of request to Mrs. Weber.

Absolutely no medication may be consumed at school without filling out the Medication Administration Request form found on the website under the Parent tab (then click parent resources).

Your child will once again participate in Art, Music, Gym, and Technology ALL YEAR LONG!!  The special classes are on a six day rotation.  This means your child will not have the same special on the same day every week.  Your child’s teacher will provide you with more information regarding their classrooms schedule.
