The information below is intended for those students who are
not already participating in the College Credit Plus (CCP) program and for
those students who have not already applied to the College Credit Plus (CCP)
program for the 2020-21 school year.
Given the uncertain conditions as to when we will return to
school, I wanted to give you an update on the College Credit Plus program as it
relates to the 2020-21 school year. If you have an interest in pursuing
College Credit Plus courses, whether taken at a local college (Lakeland
Community College or Lake Erie College) or at Riverside High School, you can
still apply to these institutions. Note: CCP courses taken at Riverside
High School require that you complete the Lakeland Community College
application requirements.
If you choose to apply, please notify your school counselor
immediately, so that we can send your high school transcript to either
institution listed above. I have been in contact with both schools and we
are able to send them high school transcripts in an electronic format.
While both Lakeland and Lake Erie College require the
Accuplacer placement test, that is currently on hold until both campuses
re-open. In the meantime, the state of Ohio is exploring options whereby
testing may not be a necessary requirement for CCP participation. More
information will be provided on this matter as it becomes available.
In order to start the CCP application process, it is required that each student submit two forms; “Intent to Participate” and “Information Certification.” See THESE FORMS. The state of Ohio has extended the deadline to submit these forms until May 1, 2020. If you plan to pursue the CCP program, please print out the forms, complete them, and send the forms back to your school counselor. If you are unable to scan the forms, you may take a picture of the two completed forms and send them in that format.
More information about the CCP program can be found in the “College Credit Plus Guide Book” located on the Guidance page of the Riverside High School web-site. Information in the “Guide Book” will help answer questions related to the “Information Certification” form.
If you submit a CCP application to either college, please notify your school
counselor as soon as possible, so that we can send your high school
