Local businessman and veteran Dean Bader is sponsoring a flag etiquette class for all fifth graders in the District. The class is presented by members of the Color Guard from the American Legion Post 336 in Painesville.
The class includes the proper way to raise and lower the American Flag along with the correct way to fold the flag and store it when it is removed from display. By the end of the school year, 5th graders will teach the 4th graders flag etiquette to carry on tradition from year to year.
In addition, each school will receive a new American made flag to be displayed on their outdoor flag poles courtesy of Digital Imaging Specialist Inc., which is owned by Bader. Dean and his wife Barbara have donated more than 100 American Flags to the District to be displayed at the schools.
