Spelling tests this year will be every other week. Your student will get their new list of words and their definitions on Monday, have that week and the next to practice and learn both the spelling and definition, and be tested on the following Friday. They will also be asked to pick three words and write a sentence for each words, using it correctly in a sentence.

You may find the lists of words at www.spellingcity.com . This is an interactive website that your student can use to practice the spelling and definitions for their curent list. If your student misplaces their list, they can get a new one at school, visit spellingcity.com, bring home their Word Explorer book, or look on my classroom web page.

List 15- Geometry Words

angle- a figure formed by 2 lines that begin at one point

equilateral- having all sides equal in length

perpendicular- intersecting at or forming a right angle or angles

complementary- measuring 90° when added together

congruent- having the same size and shape

acute- measuring less than 90°

supplementary- measuring 180° when added together

quadrilateral- a geometric shape with four sides

obtuse- measuring greater than 90°

parallel- going in the same direction but the same distance apart at all points
