Welcome to the ESL program at Buckeye Elementary School. ESL stands for English as a Second Language and is an educational approach in which English language learners are instructed in the use of the English language.


Students are taught utilizing the Pearson Longman Cornerstone program. Cornerstone is a multi-level program designed for elementary English Language Learners (ELLs) with explicit, focused instruction to accelerate students' language acquisition, reading comprehension, vocabulary, as well as oral and written communication skills.
