I have a lending library in my classroom. The children will be allowed to take a book home to practice reading. Please return the reading homework envelope every day.
Reading 15 minutes or more per day is homework.
My goal is for your child to have a lot of successes with reading. If the book is too frustrating, we are defeating our purpose. In that case, return the book with a quick note to me.
Children that are reading chapter books may keep them until they are finished or for a few extra days. Remember we are trying to challenge your child, not frustrate them. If the book is too difficult, return it for a more appropriate choice.
Thank you for your patience and help as I get to know your child's reading ability.
Children become better readers by reading a lot...it's that simple.
