The 40 book challenge invites students to expand their reading lives in a classroom community built on research -based practices. It is a personal challenge for each student, not a contest or competition between students or classes. This is not a requirement and it is ok if not everyone reads 40 books. My wish is that students grow as readers...build confidence, positive reading identities and become lifelong readers.
